The Northeast Asian Research Center and the Institute of Japan Studies successfully held the International Symposium onthe "Belt and Road" Initiative and China-Japan Third-Party Market Cooperation

Inearly September 2019, the International Symposium on "One Belt One Road" Initiative and China-Japan Third-Party Market Cooperation was held at Jilin University. This international symposium was organized by the Northeast Asian Research Center and the Institute of Japan Studies of Jilin University. Dean Yu Xiao, Vice Dean Wu Hao, and Wang Yanjun of the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University attended the meeting. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Yanjun, Vice President.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Yu Xiao, Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University, researcher Zhang Jifeng, Deputy Director of the Institute of Japan Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Executive Vice President of the National Economic Association of Japan, professor Masahiro Kawai Representative Director of the ERINA,the Graduate School of Public Policy University of Tokyodelivered speeches at the conference respectively. Thirty scholars from institutes of China and Japan, including ERINA, Tohoku University, Fukushima University, Meiji University, Jilin University, Northeast Normal University, Yanbian University, Guangdong Ocean University, Yancheng Normal University Business School, Henan University of Technology, and Changchun University of Technology, attended the meeting.

On the occasion of the 12th China-Northeast Asian Expo, participating experts and scholars had a lively discussion on the “Belt and Road” initiative and the cooperation between China and Japan in third-party markets, and achieved fruitful results. The views and suggestions put forward by the Japanese research team of Jilin University were widely recognized by the scholars participating in the meeting. The participants reached a consensus on deepening bilateral cooperation between China and Japan and speeding up the process of cooperation in the third-party market between China and Japan. In the future, the Northeast Asian Research Center will continue to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between China and Japan, further carry forward the tradition of non-governmental friendship, consolidate the social and public foundation of China-Japan relations, and enhance China-Japan academic exchanges.
