On November 20th, 2021, the Northeast Asian Studies College, Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University and Peking University co-organized the 11th Northeast Asia Forum of Jilin University and Peking University, with the theme of Policy Options for Northeast Asian Countries under the Centennial Change and COVID -19 Pandemic. The conference was hosted by Jilin University and was conducted online.

    Professor Zhang Huizhi, Deputy Director of the Northeast Asian Research Center and Director of the Institute of Korean Peninsular Studies of Jilin University, presided over the opening ceremony, and Professor Wu Hao, Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College and Professor Li Hanmei, Dean of the Asia-Pacific Research Institute, Peking University, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Nearly 20 experts and scholars from the Northeast Asian Studies College and Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University and the Asia-Pacific Research Institute of Peking University, School of International Studies, School of Foreign Languages, Center for Mongolian Studies, and Institute of Area Studies of Peking University attended the conference. The conference held in-depth exchanges on three topics, including The Impact of the Centennial Change and the COVID-19 Pandemic on Northeast Asian Countries, The Direction of the Situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Response, and New Ideas for Regional Cooperation in Northeast Asia in the Post-pandemic Era, and achieved positive results.

    The conference was also the 11th academic symposium held between Jilin University and Peking University since the signing of the agreement on strengthening exchanges and cooperation on international issues in July 2009, during which both sides highly valued the fruitful cooperation between the two universities and expressed their intention to continue to promote the deepening development of this cooperative relationship.
